A Gentle Beginning
On finishing my memoir, honoring the past, and holding hope for what comes next
As the new year settles in and the year begins to slow, I find myself reflecting on the quiet moments, the unexpected turns, and the stories that shape who we become.
2025 was a year of courage for me. Writing a memoir means revisiting moments I once rushed past, sat with silently, or thought I’d left behind. It has meant learning that memory isn’t just about the past—it’s about meaning, growth, and compassion for who we were when we didn’t yet know what was coming.
As I head into the new year, I’m holding a hopeful heart. Next steps for my manuscript, Showing Up For Me: A Memoir is publication, and while nothing is ever guaranteed, I feel deeply grateful to be at this stage. Simply reaching this point has been a reminder that telling the truth—gently and bravely—is always worth it.
December was a season of pauses. Of looking back without judgment and forward without certainty. I hope last month gave you space to rest, reflect, and honor how far you've come, especially in ways no one else can see.
This year, I’ll be sharing more here on Substack—about the memoir, the writing process, and the lessons that surfaced along the way.
If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to stay connected.

Thank you for being part of the beginning of this journey. Your presence, encouragement, and curiosity mean more than you know.
Wishing you warmth, peace, and a hopeful start to the year ahead,
Linda Vee
